MISSION TRIPS
In 2003, our members made the decision to become a mission-minded church, with our new mission statement, “Go and Share Jesus Christ”.
That same year, we did with our first trip to Ahouset B.C. Canada. In 2004, our pastor received a letter from Dr. Waldo Werning to prayerfully consider going to India as part of the “Catch a Vision” program to help train IELC (Indian Evangelical Lutheran Church) pastors. They also requested a woman from our congregation who could help train Indian women. Ascension committed to the trip and raised $14,000 to pay for transportation, lodging and supplies for the pastors and women to be trained. With a leap of faith, God blessed us by not only sending His servants to India, but in making Ascension a mission-minded church and blessing us with renewed confidence, spirit and growth.

Since these initial trips our congregation has taken the opportunity to go on many mission trips. Teams have gone to Guatemala to lead Vacation Bible School, Mexico to build houses for those in need, New Orleans and other communities in need of aid after natural disasters.
We look forward to continued outreach opportunities and are always in the stages of planning our next trip. Ask us how you can take part.
